In his opening speech, Ambassador to Iran Kim Junpyo highlighted the cultural similarities between the two nations. Contestants then showed their knowledge in topics ranging from Korean kings to contemporary K-dramas.
Six finalists emerged, with one winner selected to represent Iran in the finals in Korea later this year.
Four interactive cultural booths at the competition illustrated Korean traditions.
Participants enjoy traditional Korean games at the "Squid Game" booth during the event.
One themed on the hit series "Squid Game" drew crowds with traditional games like ddakji (paper tile flipping) and gonggi (jacks), connecting modern pop culture with traditional play. At a booth on traditional paper folding, participants created miniature Hanbok (traditional clothing) and bokjumeoni (lucky pouch), learning about the cultural significance of these items.
The face painting booth offers face and body painting featuring Korean symbols.
Visitors expressed their creativity at the face painting booth using Korean symbols like Korea's national flag Taegeukgi and Korea's national flower mugunghwa (rose of Sharon). Another booth on traditional mask coloring offered insights into Korea's rich theatrical heritage through the decoration of traditional mask designs.
The celebration concluded with a K-pop karaoke session and a Korean culinary event featuring dishes from spicy kimchi to sweet rice cakes.
