President Moon Jae-in held a bilateral meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in New York on Sept. 21. The two leaders reaffirmed their goal to achieve denuclearization of North Korea in a peaceful manner. Condemning Pyongyang's sixth nuclear test and ballistic missile launches over Japan's northern islands, both leaders emphasized the importance of complying with and carrying out U.N. Security Council resolutions No.s 2371 and 2375.

President Moon Jae-in held a summit with Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni in New York on Sept. 20 to reaffirm their cooperation on local and international issues, including North Korea’s nuclear weapons threats. The two sides commented on the close and reliable relationship that has been continued between Seoul and Rome, and agreed to tighten their ties. Both leaders also agreed to work with the international community to strongly confront North Korea’s continued provocations.

President Moon Jae-in and U.K. Prime Minister Theresa may held their first bilateral talks in New York on Sept. 19 where they discussed the joint response to North Korea, and helped to further develop the friendship between Seoul and London. Both leaders agreed to work together with the U.N. Security Council to respond firmly to the North’s provocations and to closely cooperate on a peaceful solution to fundamentally and comprehensively end North Korea’s nuclear weapons issues.

President Moon Jae-in held a bilateral meeting with Senegalese President Macky Sall at U.N headquarters in New York on Sept. 19. The two heads of state agreed to expand cooperation on many areas, including national security and the defense industries, as well as agriculture, education, welfare and infrastructure. President Moon said he hopes that Senegal's Maritime Infrastructure Establishment Project (MIEP), funded by Korea's Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF), has a successful launch.

President Moon Jae-in held a summit with his Czech counterpart, President Miloš Zeman, in New York on Sept. 19 to talk about ways to further improve bilateral ties and to deal with North Korean issues. The two leaders agreed that the strategic partnership between Prague and Seoul has grown since 2015, and they vowed that they will keep working to bring reciprocal ties to a new level.

President Moon Jae-in held a summit with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Sept. 7 during his visit to Vladivostok, Russia. The leaders talked about issues of mutual interest, including North Korea, as well as ways to further strengthen ties. The two leaders agreed on the need to maximize sanctions and pressure on Pyongyang and vowed to help the U.N. Security Council adopt stronger sanctions against the North, which could include a cut-off of crude oil supplies to the regime.

President Moon Jae-in and Russian President Vladimir Putin held summit talks in Vladivostok, Russia, on Sept. 6. The two leaders discussed various measures to develop bilateral relations and ways to jointly respond to North Korean nuclear weapons issues. The two leaders agreed to actively carry out economic cooperation projects by expanding the volume of bilateral trade to USD $30 billion and the number of people-to-people exchanges to more than 1 million by 2020.

President Moon Jae-in held summit talks with his Mongolian counterpart, President Khaltmaa Battulga, on Sept. 6 during his visit to Vladivostok, Russia. The two leaders shared their ideas on how to cooperate on regional security. President Moon that this meeting would help to increase the personal trust between him and the Mongolian president, and, also, would lay a solid foundation for better ties between the two countries.

President Moon Jae-in and Russian President Vladimir Putin held their first summit meeting on July 7 in Hamburg, Germany, on the sidelines of the G20 Summit. The two presidents discussed various issues involving the Korean Peninsula, including North Korean nuclear weapons and measures to boost bilateral cooperation.

President Moon mentioned the need to add stricter sanctions and pressure from the international community in order to prevent further provocations from Pyongyang. President Putin said that substantial and detailed approaches are needed to resolve North Korean issues.

President Moon Jae-in, on an official state visit to Germany, met with his Chinese counterpart President Xi Jinping in Berlin on July 6. They discussed ways to further enhance cooperation and issues of mutual interest.

The two leaders agreed that closer bonds and trust between their two nations would help to improve their strategic cooperative relationship.
