President Yoon Suk Yeol, following his state visit to the Philippines, on Oct. 8 will hold a bilateral summit with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on boosting practical cooperation.

Both sides are expected to raise cooperation in trade and investment and supply chains for strategic materials in cutting-edge sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI) and digitalization. They will announce the results of their talks through a joint announcement.

In May, President Yoon made a phone call to the prime minister to congratulate him on his inauguration. They also agreed to reinforce strategic cooperation in digitalization, AI and social infrastructure as Singapore is a core partner of the Korea-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Solidarity Initiative.

After the summit, President Yoon will attend a luncheon hosted by the prime minister and his wife, followed by a meeting with former Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. The president will complete his visit to the city-state at the Korea-Singapore Business Forum.
